Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What does no-lead mean for plumbing products?
A: Federal law requires plumbing products in potable water systems to contain no more than 0.25% lead in wetted surfaces. All A.Y. McDonald products we carry are no-lead compliant.

Q: What's the difference between PEX and copper piping?
A: PEX is flexible, corrosion-resistant, easier to install, and typically less expensive. Copper is rigid with a longer track record. PEX has become standard for most residential and light commercial plumbing.

Q: What are push-fit fittings?
A: Push-fit fittings allow you to join pipes by simply pushing them together — no soldering, crimping, or special tools required.
