Static Discharge Grounding Reels

static grounding reels, also known as static discharge reels, are used in fuel transportation for the loading/unloading of tank cars, storage tanks and trucks. They are also used in aircraft refueling, chemical plants, grain silos, rescue and hazmat operations, bulk powder transfer stations, terminals and fuel refineries.

Their purpose is to ground equipment operating in hazardous atmospheres where the discharge of static electricity could cause a spark and subsequent explosion. When properly clamped to the ground, the static discharge reel dissipates static electrical buildup, reducing the chances of sparking.
